Turning off Automatic Gain Control

Turning off Automatic Gain Control

Automatic Gain Control (AGC) is a feature that's enabled on your Terra to help adjust the microphone levels based on how loud the environment is.  It can be a useful feature in many cases, but in some cases we've found it can introduce issues like static sounds, microphones cutting on and off, and other noise artifacts.  If you're experiencing sound quality issues with your Terra, turning off the AGC is a very good place to start.

How to Turn Off AGC

You can turn off the AGC through Featherworks on a web browser.

2.  If asked, login to your account using your Terra name and password
3. Go to the Terra Control Panel section
4. You'll see the control panel, with a switch for AGC on the top left
5. Turn off the AGC switch

6. Now uplug and replug your Terra for the change to take effect
7. Check your Terra stream and see if the sound is improved
8. If your sound is still having issues, contact us at support@terra.zohodesk.com
